Well, par for the course … whenever hubby or I get time off, one of us gets sick. This time it was Paul, he got an abscess in one of his molars and had to get an emergency appointment at the dentist! All sorted now, but it was a bit of a drag for the end of his holiday.
This week we managed to get another couple of days off together so yesterday we set off bright and early for a day out. Paul wouldn’t tell me where we were going – he wanted it to be a surprise. Well, we ended up in Skye! A 440-mile round trip and 14 hours out and about all in all….just because I’d mentioned I’d never been to Skye before. If you haven’t been, it’s well worth a trip, the views are absolutely breathtaking, but I think next time we might stay at least one night. On the way there we had to stop off in Kilmahog and visit Hamish. Hamish lives in a field next to the Trossachs Woolen Mill and he is the biggest Heilan’ Coo I’ve seen in my life, with an attitude to match….he just looks at you as if to say ‘what! you’ve never seen a heilan’ coo before?’ lol
I’ve also booked in to do a 2-day craft fayre at the Scottish Woolen Mill in Aberfoyle – August 1st and 2nd and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve been busy making Scottish-themed cards just for this fayre, but hopefully if they sell well enough, I’ll make them a regular feature in my stock. It’s made a nice change from my usual style and I think I will be incorporating some of the designs into my wedding stock too.
